Teacher of History

At Heart of England School, we strive for excellence in everything we do and have a clear, commonly held vision of what we are here to achieve.

Our young people are well cared for and every effort is made to promote their educational and personal development. Hard work and achievement are top of the agenda for everyone.

  • TEACHER OF HISTORY (FULL TIME PERMANENT)
  • Required from September 2024

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher who is looking for fresh opportunities to create futures for our students. The successful candidate will be passionate about the subject, able to challenge our students and contribute to the continuing development of the team at both KS3 and GCSE. History is a highly successful and popular subject at both GCSE and A level.

At Heart of England our vision is simple; we create futures for each and every one of our students. We are clear in our approach to professional wellbeing, which is crucial at a time of ever-shifting change.

We believe in agency and autonomy for our staff. We believe that the same intellectual curiosity that lead you to want to study your subject at university and then teach it to others is what makes you best placed to make decisions about the way you teach your subject now. We believe that when it comes to learning and teaching our motto, “No One Way … By Design”, encapsulates our philosophy of enabling staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for students. Our culture acknowledges variety whilst grounded in shared values and consistency of approach in our decided essentials.

The subject teams have designed their own respective curriculums for KS3 following the sequence of knowledge and skills they believe to be essential for students as they develop through the years. We’ve also continued to adapt our behaviour policy with the motto ‘Our Way…By Design’ showing that shared values, defined habits, consistent routines and clear boundaries are the bedrock of a successful school. Another thing about us: we’re not in to quick fixes or superficial tweaks; we’re in it for sustainable excellence. Our vision outlines an ongoing process of continuous improvement and an adaptive, restless drive for the implementation of best practice grounded in educational research.

Heart of England School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post requires an enhanced DBS check.
