Eight of our intrepid Sixth Form students have braved the cold, wet and shear exhaustion of the latest Wolf Run in aid of Save the Children.
Our super eight set out on Sunday 14 April on an overcast and cold day to a location in wildest Warwickshire, near Offchurch to test their stamina on a course of obstacles which included very cold water and lots of mud!

The 10km route is not for the feint-hearted and took place over a 1000 acre site which features artificial and natural obstacles such as a river and lake.
The event started at about noon and the group arrived early, full of enthusiasm and energy for the big event. The ‘pack’ consisted of Matthew, Lucy, Katy, Max, Amar, Annabel, Elliott and Lewis and preparations meant arriving early to get gear sorted and to take part in the essential warm-up.
Matthew, head of the Sixth Form Charity Committee said: “I run anyway and I’ve always wanted to do a Wolf Run. This seemed the perfect opportunity to fundraise and have a bit of fun.”

The Save the Children charity is one of the charities adopted by the students this year and there have been several fundraisers for it including a Christmas jumper day. The charity works to protect children around the world giving them access to education, healthcare and working with children in poverty. “Save the Children is a fantastic cause that helps countless children across the globe, and we’re trying to raise as much money as possible by participating in this event,” said Matthew.
So far, the group have raised over £650 which is fantastic and they are still accepting donations via the JustGiving site.

Afterwards the mud-caked students agreed that the water was freezing and when they had finished they were very happy to don a space blanket and have a welcome hot drink!
