Sports Round-up: 11 March, 2019

We introduce our new regular Sports Round-up blog feature this week with a summary of the achievements and participation of our sporting students.

Year 13 student Faith had a very successful event when she swept the board at the Welsh Championships last week.  Her long hours of training and effort were rewarded with no fewer than eight golds, two silvers and four Welsh Masters Records!

Cross Country

The latest cross-country fixture was hosted by Lighthall School and took place on Tuesday 5th March.  Despite the wet and cold conditions, 18 of our athletes competed at the meeting and there were several highlights of the afternoon including top finishes from Year 7 students Euan and Hussein.

Other excellent results include Alfie getting a fine 7th place in the Year 8 and 9 boy’s race, with George making a solid debut for the school.  Jake competed in his first race since Year 7 and coming home in the top 10 so a great return performance from him

Jess from Year 12 led the girls home, with more debut performances from Caitlin B in Year 10, Caitlin W and Georgia.

Finally, the Year 7 boys Football team had a fantastic win against West Coventry Academy with a 6-0 final score.

Well done to all our sporting students!
