A report from Mrs Henton about the recent activities of the PTA and the importance of the support you can help with:

After a three year break, we welcomed just under 100 parents, Sixth Form students, staff and trustees for the PTA Quiz Night. Expertly hosted by the dad of one of our students, topics included sports, music and even a GCSE round – luckily the teachers scored highly here! There was an extra difficult question which allowed the winning team to claim a bottle of champagne.
A fish and chip supper fish and chip supper was served midway through the evening which complimented the drinks available on the bar kindly run by the Balsall Common Lions. We were lucky to have students Sarah, Hattie, George and Molly supporting our PTA committee to make the evening a great fundraising success with £189 was raised on the raffle alone. A huge thank you from the PTA to all who supported the event by attending.
So far this year the PTA have been kind enough to fund Young Leaders coaching for members of our student councils and they have purchased a tow bar for the minibus to enable school to run the gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
The PTA appreciate that times are challenging at the moment and their support is imperative to ensuring we can offer the best to our students at Heart of England. If you haven’t already contributed to the PTA this year visit their webpage to find out ways you can help. The more they raise, the more they can support developing our offer at Heart of England. It really is a case of every little helps. So whether it be time, voluntary contributions or even donating a raffle prize please show your support for our volunteers on the PTA.
