Katie Simpson

Pastoral and Transition Manager

Welcome to Heart of England School, I am Mrs Simpson and I am the Pastoral Manager for Year 7, I work alongside Miss Lancaster in supporting students during their transition to secondary school and through to Year 8.

Moving from Primary to Secondary school is a big step for both students and their parents, my role is to ensure that your child has a positive transition to life at Heart of England school. I look forward to establishing supportive relationships with you and your child as they begin their time with us. My aim is to get to know each and every child and support them to achieve their very best.

It has been a pleasure to visit so many of the primary schools, meeting the children and their teachers and finding out lots of information about them as we to prepare for Transition day and them starting with us in September.

I look forward to joining you in promoting and celebrating your child’s successes and encouraging them to engage with our core values of Kindness, Honesty, Humour, Courage and Determination

Miss Lancaster

Acadmic Manager for Year 7

Hello. My name is Miss Lancaster and welcome to Heart of England School. I work alongside Mrs Simpson as the Year 7 Academic Manager.

Alongside Mrs Simpson, I have already begun the process of getting to know your child by visiting many of them in their primary school and hopefully putting their minds at ease about their transition to Secondary School.

I have planned a Transition Day that will allow your child to try some of the new subjects they will be studying in September, as well as the school day and having the opportunity to learn a little of the geography of the buildings. We aim for the children to leave Transition Day excited to start their new school and having their questions about Heart of England answered.

My job is to monitor and support your child in achieving their best academically whether this is supporting where there may be barriers or stretching those that can push themselves that little bit further. My aim is to ensure that our Year group are proud of their achievements and that we create time to celebrate all achievements whether they are big or small.

I am really looking forward to working together in partnership to ensure a smooth transition for your child and supporting them in their first year at Heart of England School.

Dear Parents/Carers

I would like to offer a very warm welcome to you and your child as you join us at Heart of England. As your child embarks on their secondary education, we are not only starting a relationship with them that will last for at least five years, we are also beginning a partnership with you.
