Coming Up This Week…
Lockers: Year 8 and Year 9
Lockers will be available to purchase for all Year 8 and Year 9 students on Friday. Parents/carers can purchase lockers on ParentPay and lockers allocated and keys distributed during tutor time next week. A letter has been sent home.
Locker Key Return and Locker Property
Students who left belongings in lockers over the summer should return your key to finance now and collect any belongings – items returned when the key is returned. Uncollected property will be disposed of or recycled after 7 October 2022. Return keys from the last academic year to finance now.

Open Evening – Thank You!
A very big thank you to all our students who helped during the Open Evening on Thursday. They represented our school brilliantly and we are so proud of them all. “Our students were magnificent,” said one staff member. Thank you.
The Power of Poetry Competition
Write a powerful and purposeful poem. Open to all students. Prizes: 1st Prize – Our five favourite poets will receive £50 and a trophy and the chance to have your work published. See Miss Goodwin in M124 for an entry form and further details!
Careers Fair: Years 10-13
SAVE THE DATE! On the 20 October from 6pm – 8pm we are hosting a Careers Fair in school with a range of different educational establishments from colleges to universities, as well as large companies and small businesses, training and apprenticeship providers. Come along with your child and find out about what options there are for their next steps. All guests are there to offer an insight into courses and the world of work. Please come and ask questions! The event will be in the Main Hall (M011). We would like all students to attend.
PTA Meeting: Looking for New Members
The PTA is an integral part of our school community. The first meeting will be on Monday 10 October, time TBC. If you are willing to get involved either turn up on the night or contact Hentons@heart-england.co.uk.
Clubs
New! Poetry Club
Are you interested in developing your poetry skills to become better at both reading and writing poetry? Poetry club begins during Thursday lunch time in M201. You are welcome to bring your own lunch along, and any poems that you have written or found that you would like to share. Any questions, ask Mr O’Brien.
Equalistars
Equalistars LGBT+ and allies club: Open to all years 7-13 Tuesday lunchtimes in H024. Bring your lunch and we will organise events to mark events from anti-bullying week to Pride!

Debate club restarts on Wednesdays in M115. All year groups welcome to participate or observe. Please bring your lunch. Mrs Hunt and Mr Bloxham.
Sixth Form Open Evening: Wednesday 9 November 2022
For Year 11 Students looking to join us for A Level studies from September 2023. Come and see what we have to offer and prepare for your future. On Wednesday 9 November from 4.00pm till 8.00pm.
