Welcome Back to School!

September 2022 is the beginning of some new adventures for our Year 7s and a fresh start in new years for our current students, we wish them all well in the coming months.

Coming Up This Week…

Back to School

We have started the new year with year assemblies for all students to welcome them back, remind them of our core values and to introduce our focus on building successful habits.  Every class will have a seating plan, a structured opening activity and orderly dismissals from classes and there is a new tutor time structure which includes weekly themes, uniform and equipment checks and DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read).  There is also an opportunity for weekly one-to-one interaction with tutors.

We have made changes to our Pastoral system too and tutors will take a central role of being the first point of contact for any issues about your child.  The Pastoral Managers will oversee the care of all students in a year and will liaise with tutors and other staff to best care for our students across the school.

Bus Passes

All students travelling on any school bus service will be required to show a Bus Pass in order to board the bus from Monday 12 September. If an application for the 825, 182, 183 has been made but the pass has not yet arrived, a paper copy of the application must be shown.

Tutor ‘Meet and Greet’

A chance to meet your child’s tutor in school on Monday 19/Tuesday 20 September between 3:45pm and 6.45pm. Tutors are the first essential contact for any issue about your child in school.

IT Support Update

Over the summer there have been a lot of changes to our IT network.  The Sixth Form study area and Product Design space have had computers updated and replaced.  The biggest change has been our migration to 100% cloud-based OneDrive storage for all our users including students.  The advantages are access across more devices including portable ones, immediate synchronisation of files and effectively unlimited storage for work – a very big improvement for students.
