Digital Detox

Begins from Monday 14 March.  All phones, smart devices and earbuds/AirPods/headphones will be banned from used in school for Year 7-11 students.  Any devices seen or heard will be confiscated to be collected at the end of the day.  Devices must be stored is bags or lockers and not be carried on person in pockets.

School Production 

Tickets are available on our ParentPay service or cash will be accepted on the door:

  • Tuesday 5 & Wednesday 6April, Adults £6.00, Concessions £4.00
  • Thursday 7April: Staff £4.50, Adults £7.00, Concessions £4.50

All performances begin at 7:30pm.

Year 7  Parents’/Carers’ Evening

The postponed online parent’s evening for Year 7 is due to take place on Tuesday 8 March.  This is an online event and parents/carers have to pre-book their SchoolCloud appointments.

Year 9  Options Deadline

Wednesday 16 March is the deadline for GCSE options submissions.

Clubs

 Year 7  Sports Clubs

Anyone for Table Tennis?  If so and you are in Year 7 and want a bit of fun, come to the Dance Studio (S006) on Mondays at 1:45-2:15pm for a game or two.

Book Club – KS4 ( Year 10  &  11 )

KS4 Book Club meet over lunch in M125 each Friday.  Currently they are reading their way through the Booker short list – 6 of the best books written in 2021.  Why not join them if you like reading and want access to really good books?

Debate Club

Debate club meet at Tuesday lunchtimes in room M125.  They tackle many interesting topics:  this week there was an open forum for discussion of the Russia/Ukraine war.

Achievements

Sixth Form

Year 13 student Rosie achieved a Gold award in The UK Chemistry Olympiad, a prestigious Chemistry competition run by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The Science Department is proud of Rosie’s achievements and grateful to her Chemistry teachers Dr Mitchell and Mr Nance for their teaching and support. Congratulations for such a high award in a very difficult competition.
