One of our former students, Jed Thomas has been performing in front of ITV’s X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger for the chance to be in an X Factor band.

16-year Jed who left Heart of England this summer to pursue his Music at BIMM Institute in Birmingham has successfully got through the first round of X Factor: The Band and will be performing this Friday 13th for a place in the band during a live show which starts at 8.30pm.
Jed performed his first audition in Simon Cowell’s office with fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger where he performed an effortlessly cool rendition of Childish Gambino’s Redbone for the Judges. The next round will see Jed competing against the other male contestants to secure his place in ‘The Band.’
The new four-episode X Factor show is hoping to repeat its success in creating a band like One Direction or Little Mix by auditioning individuals and putting the bands together for the live final at Resorts World Arena, Birmingham on Sunday 15 December.

Jed studied GCSE Music at Heart of England and had been a member of on of our choirs Score, a number of school bands and also took part in the Music Tour to Italy. He has also performed in numerous school concerts over the 5 years he was at the school.
Congratulations Jed for getting so far and we wish you success for the next stages!
